David Baileyはおそらく写真というメディアの巨匠だが、写真が技術的に追いつめられていることを受け入れている。スナップショット写真はすでに私たちの視覚的文化の一部になっており、膨大な量の似通た写真が撮られている。これらの写真は微妙に違うだけで、例えば家族写真ではそれぞれの家族のアイデンティティが違うだけだ。Baileyもこのようなスナップショット写真を撮るが、彼曰くこういった写真は非常に簡単に見え、彼のアシスタントであるMarkにですら撮ることができる、という。そこでBaileyの最新作である本書はこの皮肉的表現のタイトルとなった。
